Problem
Primary School pupils need to be prepared for public-speaking and presentations to convince others to buy into their ideas, but currently they are afraid to do so. The aim therefore is to provide a structure to develop the pupils to be more confident speakers.Context
This pattern can be applied to situations where scaffolding learning activities are used to lead to a presentation task to a big group.Solution
Provide an environment that is non-threathening for the pupils to practice their oral speaking, presentation skills, etc
Start them with topics that pupils are comfortable with.
Provide scaffolds (teacher modelling, rubrics, etc) for peers to give constructive comments and feedback.
