This depends on the purpose of this activity, time available and intended audience. If it is used as a 10 minute conversational ice-breaker and only for the group that are gathered together then I don't think it needs to be made too involved - rather it is kept light and fun. Annotations are useful where this kind of game is switched to an online setting and participants are at a distance.
