There is a pattern in here waiting to get out that I think is around the "name" as an identifier that has a lot of impact on digital identity aggregation and confusion. Using multiple names e.g. real-name, variations on real-name, handles, avatar names and so on is a way of creating unique identities but also in creating identity separation for semi-?private activities. Name choices can seem trivial but have long-lasting implications.
