Group space of the project teamFormative e-Assessment
The Centre for Work-Based Learning for Education Professionals, at the Institute of Education, has been commissioned by JISC to conduct a study on Formative e-Assessment process modelling. This study, based on a combination of desk-based research, case study building based on empirical data gathered from practice, will survey existing literature as well as sample practice in the field to identify effective models of formative e-assessment and the software tools to support them.Sustaining Learning Communities
Out of EuroPLoP: Pedagogical Patterns
EuroPLoP hosted a workgroup on Pedagogical Patterns. This space has been set up to support continuous collaboration within the community identified at that workshop. It is open to all those who wish to engage in a discussion on the role of design patterns in education, teaching and learning.Architecture for Participatory Learning
MMORPGs (Massivly Multi-Player Online Role Playing Games) MUVEs (Multi-User Virtual Environments) and Web 2.0 all share a common attitude, challenging traditional divides between users and content suppliers, and offering an alternative model of participation and empowerment. Such environments seem highly potent arena for learning. Indeed, a serious body of evidence suggests that users are learning a broad range of skills through participation in suce spaces. Yet it is still unclear how to direct this learning and harness the power of these new media in structured education.Pattern Exchange
EuroPLoP2008 sparked a conversation about the need and possibilities for coordinating efforts in constructing software systems for authoring, storing, sharing, searching and using design patterns and pattern languages.Planet's Pattern Experts Group
Group of experts in the use of design patterns in education, formed at our workshop at the London Knowledge Lab on 28 Oct, 2008Workshop Schedule
