Situation
What was the setting in which this case study occurred?
Primary 5 pupils were required to reflect upon school events and other curriculum issues.Task
What was the problem to be solved, or the intended effect?
Teacher felt that more time should be provided for deeper and more thorough reflection on the issues. However, there is a slight tension in balancing the curriculum content and achieving better quality reflections. Also, traditional reflections are submitted as individual work, and the learning points are consolidated by the teacher and share with the class. The secondary aim here is to allow the pupils to share their reflections so that the learning points shared immediately to provoke more ideas.
Actions
What was done to fulfil the task?
An online forum was set up so that pupils may engage in reflections and discussions online.Guiding questions were provided to the pupils.
Results
What happened? Was is a success? What contributed to the outcomes?
Initially, the response was not encouraging because pupils were supposed to do the reflections at their own time.Pupils continued to post their discussion independent of others' discussion - not building on each others' idea (in subject forums)
Pupils were able to build on each others' thread (in social forum)

- More face-to-face discussions were done during class time to scaffold reflections later
- Pupils were given time to start their reflection during curriculum time
- Teacher modelling on building on others' comments and reflectionsodification: Pupils were given time to start their reflection during
